When should you move a child to a convertible car seat?
Whenever your baby outgrows the height and weight specifications for your infant car seat, whichever comes first. Most modern infant car seats max out at 22 pounds to 35 pounds for weight and 29 inches to 32 inches for height.
Your infant car seat’s specifications should be in the manual that came with it. If you don’t have it, the car seat manufacturer will likely have that information on its website. If you still can’t find it, HealthyChildren.org has a list of car seats and their specifications.
